About the Book
This memoir starts with an event of trauma in a hospital setting in the mortuary. This event haunted her, and much to her surprise caused bizarre symptoms she has never experienced during twenty-two years of being a nurse. Soon, she was diagnosed with PTSD. This marked the end of her practice, but the journey to understand why this happened has just begun.
To comprehend her condition, Scott looked back at her life to see if some symptoms have manifested even before. She reflects in her upbringing on the farm where death just happens; her desire to travel; her journey as a bush nurse in an isolated ski resort; until her career’s end. Through her recollection, readers will witness how traumatic death forced her to leave her profession, and how she was able to move forward despite everything.
